The Cosmic Zodiac
The whole sky, read for you, for the first time.
Almost the entire night sky was left out.
The zodiac measures a band about sixteen degrees wide — the road the planets travel — and almost everything in the sky is outside it. Every galaxy. Every nebula. The center of our own galaxy. The meaning of almost the entire sky was left out of astrology. This book brings it back.
The Cosmic Zodiac beyond the constellations
Weekly deep sky object meanings
The Helix — released at the end
The Pillars of Creation — carved by what destroys them
The Orion Nebula — lit by what it made
The Crab Nebula — a heart still beating in the wreck
The Whirlpool — the first spiral seen
What arrives: a PDF of about twenty pages, written by hand for your birth date, time and place, and sent by email within two to three days.
The sky you were born under is specific to you and no one else.
Your Cosmic Terrain is where the ten wandering lights stood at the moment you arrived — the Sun, the Moon and the planets, each one placed in the actual constellation it was in, and in the actual part of that figure where the record allows.
Not the twelve boxes. The figures themselves. Where in the Bull, where in the Archer's bow, where in the Water Bearer's falling stream — and what the ancients said about that particular part of that particular animal.
Where the record for a part of a figure is thin or missing, I say so rather than filling it in.
Not generated. Written. Every reading is calculated from a real ephemeris and then written by hand from the tellings our ancestors kept across thousands of years, then sent to you as a PDF.
This reading is written by hand, and it cannot be written without knowing where you are and what you are reaching for.
This is not a forecast. It names where you were standing, and what standing there leaves you working with.
Ordering more than one? Add each reading to your cart separately and give each person's birth details on their own form.
Your Cosmic Terrain
The ten wandering lights, each placed in the actual figure it stood in at your birth minute, and in the actual part of that figure.
Where it stood. What the ancestors said about that ground. What standing there leaves you working with.
Written for one chart. Never a template. No two readings alike.
The Potent's Odyssey
Twenty-two guardian stars from the actual sky, walked in order through life's great passages. A deck of cards with its own guidebook.
Who this is for
Nobody has to give anything up. There is just more sky.
If you read tropical charts, keep your signs, and read them the way you always have. This adds the rest of the sky to your readings: everything above and below the zodiac's narrow band.
If you read Vedic charts, you're already at home in the real sky. This adds the deep sky: the clusters, nebulae and galaxies behind each planet, and the twenty-eight rooms that hold them.
If you've never read a chart, you have the best seat in the house. You have nothing to unlearn. You start with the sky you can walk outside and find, and you learn it one layer at a time.
If you're an astronomer, there's no new science here. There's a reason for people to look up.
About Brian
Brian Mahlum has studied astrology for forty years. He spent eighteen of them refining a way of reading a chart from the Ascendant outward, and the rest working out what the signs left out: the sky itself.
He is a singer and songwriter, and a former film editor, writer, director and actor. With the mystic Marilynn Hughes he made ten feature films on mysticism, all given away free. He has taught Kundalini yoga to thousands of students, and practices hypnotherapy. He lives in Los Angeles.
The Universe Behind the Zodiac
Astrology of the whole sky: what our ancestors read across the entire sky, and what the galaxies, nebulae and star clusters mean in your own life.
